House Tour - Part 2

Here is the tour of the second floor. Starting in the entry way, you see the staircase up.

There is the front door! There is also a window that really keeps the small hall well lit.

First room is the bathroom. This is the main bathroom of the house. We have a second one in the basement, that is very nice - for a basement bathroom.

I love the window and the old fashioned tile. Though it is really just "old" tile and not "old-fashioned" as it has been here since the 50s!

More bathroom pictures...

And then we have a cute blue tub!

Coming out of the bathroom, we have the master bedroom, the coat closet, and the family as seen with the four doors below.

Here is our bedroom. So spacious! So airy! So light!

I love the creamy butter color on the walls.

Here is the coat closet. I think that pipe that blocks your view of half of the space is the forced air and air conditioning for the attic.

Now we have the coat closet, family room, the "half-bedroom," and the attic stairway door. So many doors!!

Here is the family room. On moving day, it was apparent that the Duck Couch was not going to fit up the stairs (I was hopeful since it is a pullout sofabed), but I think the beige set works great here!

Here is the TV and computer corner.

Here is the little half-bedroom. Previous owners have used it as a bedroom, but to be a legal bedroom, it needs a door, a window, and a closet. This room lacks a closet. And lacks electrical plugs.

I've been using it as my corner office to study or do crafts.

And you can see up the first couple steps to the attic.

House Tour - Part 1

Here is our new home! It was built in 1920 and is 1920 sq. ft. big, so, easy to remember! We are the 4th owners.

Here is our front porch. Very deep and wide, it fits about 8 people comfortably. We have already spent many evenings here watching the sunset and porch sitting.

Here is the entry way. The stairs to the right go upstairs to the bedrooms, to the immediate left is the living room, the fireplace you can see in the distant left is the dining room, and straight ahead is the kitchen.

Here is our living room, which could also be known as the library.

A modern keyboard for an old-fashioned house! The large cabinets (there's a second one across from it) are very heavy and were much too large for our previous apartment. I had the notion to donate them since I didn't think they would work in the space and we certainly can't / weren't going to / didn't want to carry them upstairs. However, these are not "cabinets," but rather are properly termed "entertainment centers" of which St. Vincent de Paul is completely overrun and will not take. The Veterans of America are currently not collecting furniture at this time. I haven't tried Goodwill, but with the high ceilings, I don't think they feel as though they will fall on you. I think I've grown to like them. So for all that effort, I do believe they are staying! Though, if we ever get a real piano, I won't know what to do for furniture rearranging, but that is my favorite hobby and many years down the road and I won't worry about it now.

Here is the dining room. The hanging over the fireplace was left by the previous owner, and matches the seven points in the chandelier!

Here is the new kitchen. To the very left of the sink counter is the back door. Our floor is cork and very, very comfortable to stand on for long periods of time. Just right of the dishwasher is the basement steps door.

The doorway on the right is where I was standing for the above picture and you can see the back door on the far right. Just to the left of the pantry is the doorway to the entry way. I am standing between the fridge and basement door to take this photo.

I love the cabinets, the layout, and the large pantry and refrigerator! Every time I step foot into the kitchen, I feel as though I am on a cooking show.

Welcome!
