House Tour - Part 1
Here is our new home! It was built in 1920 and is 1920 sq. ft. big, so, easy to remember! We are the 4th owners.
Here is our front porch. Very deep and wide, it fits about 8 people comfortably. We have already spent many evenings here watching the sunset and porch sitting.
Here is the entry way. The stairs to the right go upstairs to the bedrooms, to the immediate left is the living room, the fireplace you can see in the distant left is the dining room, and straight ahead is the kitchen.
Here is our living room, which could also be known as the library.
A modern keyboard for an old-fashioned house! The large cabinets (there's a second one across from it) are very heavy and were much too large for our previous apartment. I had the notion to donate them since I didn't think they would work in the space and we certainly can't / weren't going to / didn't want to carry them upstairs. However, these are not "cabinets," but rather are properly termed "entertainment centers" of which St. Vincent de Paul is completely overrun and will not take. The Veterans of America are currently not collecting furniture at this time. I haven't tried Goodwill, but with the high ceilings, I don't think they feel as though they will fall on you. I think I've grown to like them. So for all that effort, I do believe they are staying! Though, if we ever get a real piano, I won't know what to do for furniture rearranging, but that is my favorite hobby and many years down the road and I won't worry about it now.
Here is the dining room. The hanging over the fireplace was left by the previous owner, and matches the seven points in the chandelier!
Here is the new kitchen. To the very left of the sink counter is the back door. Our floor is cork and very, very comfortable to stand on for long periods of time. Just right of the dishwasher is the basement steps door.
The doorway on the right is where I was standing for the above picture and you can see the back door on the far right. Just to the left of the pantry is the doorway to the entry way. I am standing between the fridge and basement door to take this photo.
I love the cabinets, the layout, and the large pantry and refrigerator! Every time I step foot into the kitchen, I feel as though I am on a cooking show.
